The Venn Diagram of Chappell Roan and the WhatsApp Co-Founder

After Chappell Roan won a Grammy for Best New Artist at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, the internet unearthed a video of the singer as a 14 year old talent show winner saying she wanted to win a Grammy someday. (Full Rolling Stone story here).

It reminded me of my favorite piece of tech internet lore: Brian Acton tweeted in August of 2009 that he was rejected from a job at Facebook:

Five years later, Facebook bought the app he co-founded, WhatsApp, for $19 billion. (Source: Yahoo Finance). I’m guessing that is a higher salary than whatever job he was rejected for.

You never know what is coming next. I love that about life.
