A Secret to Less Screen Time
As Ina says, how easy is that?
I always tell myself that I spend so much time online because the platforms are addictive. There is truth to that.
But sometimes, it’s not just the platforms themselves; it’s the actual content I am enjoying.
So when I’m trying to reduce screen time, I focus on consuming the same content in non-screen formats.
My favorite influencers often have podcasts I can listen to while I run (author’s note: by run I clearly mean walk). I can read books on the same topics of the Reddit rabbit hole I can’t escape. The bloggers I read religiously might do meetups.
So if you want to reduce screentime, look for the non-digital counterparts of the creators and communities you can’t get enough of online: whether it's books they've written, audiobooks they recommend, or even in-person events.
To get offline, start by identifying what draws you in online; then find it in other non-screen forms.
