How to be Smarter: A Future Favor for Yourself
Update your Undo Send time frame.
As of 2023, 75.78% of email users in the U.S. - about 130.9 million people - use Gmail, according to TechJury. If you're one of them, here’s a quick tip for you.
You’ve probably noticed that after sending an email in Gmail, an "Undo" option briefly appears on your screen. By default, you have five seconds after sending an email to unsend it. But today, do your future self a favor - extend that window to the maximum 30 seconds. Those extra 25 seconds could be everything if you realize you need to retract an email.
To update your Undo Send settings in Gmail, click on Settings in the top right, then See All Settings. Find Undo Send and choose a cancellation period of 30 seconds. Then at the bottom, click Save changes.
Voilà!
