Four Legs and Serious Cash

Who among us hasn’t gotten a cute pet and tried to set up a social media account for it? (Here was my own attempt.)

But some pet influencers actually are able to live the dream the rest of us are chasing - have a cute animal, post about it on social, and make serious money.

A recent study by Heepsy ranked pet influencers based on their estimated earnings per Instagram post:

Yes, you are reading that correctly: Jiffpom is adorable, has almost 10 million people hanging on its every wag, and makes six figures a year with just three Instagram posts. Lord, I see what you have done for others….

I also think it’s interesting that Grumpy Cat has already crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but is still followed by 2.6 million people and is in the top ten of pet influencers. She’s also one of the only pets in the top 10 without a famous owner or multiple platforms. Here is an article in Business Insider that goes depth about Grumpy Cat’s rise to fame.

So happy Friday, and if you’re looking for your new best friend, there seems to be nothing but blue ocean for reptiles or birds to make the top ten pet influencers.
